Wateen Telecom was recently invited to participate in first ever Punjab Information Technology Board Information Security Conference.Wateen Telecom was represented at the event by its Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Faisal Sattar.Wateen telecom event's chief technology officer, said Mr. Faisal Sattar, has recently been invited to participate. The event aims to around information security awareness and organizations in the growing field of network security and business continuity challenges faced.

The meeting brought together various stakeholders from government, industry and academia to share their knowledge and experiences, and discuss how to effectively combat the latest threat information security. The many famous chief information officer, the person in charge of information security, researchers and professors took part in the event. The meeting raised awareness of information security and to improve the cooperation between universities, industry and government agencies, to address this important issue. Dr. Umar Saif, President Mahmoud PITB Nahil, Cloud Security Alliance founder and president of Pakistan, the people behind one event, which is held in Alpha Technology Park Lahore.

Commenting on the event, Mr. Faisal Sattar said, “With the rise of ‘bring your own device’ and commercialization of IT, Information Security should be given paramount importance by any organization in order to ensure business continuity and negating the more obvious threats of reputational damage and competitive disadvantage. This initiative by PITB is an inception towards the massive transformation required for creating awareness in this region and we at Wateen are certainly evangelists for such enterprises.”
