Unlike many of us had feared, mobile phone services are not going to get
suspended on Election Day, told Ishtiaq Ahmed, Secretary Election
Commission, while speaking with media yesterday.
There were partial guesses about the suspension of mobile phone services – at least in sensitive areas of the country – on election day, i.e. May 11th, 2013. However, this statement by Secretary Election Commission turns out to be a relief for telecom operators and the mobile phone customers.
PPPP lead, the previous government had a large number of mobile phone services suspended to deal with terrorism, but it does not seem to prevent the mobile phone service, the interim government has taken vary effective way.
Maybe recalled here, experts predict, the terrorist destruction on election day.
It is worth mentioning that the mobile phone service - after the departure of Mr. Rahman Malik - is blocked for a short time only once, too, in Lahore.
Almost all of the mobile operators in the last quarter of recorded huge losses (in 2012), due to the compulsory service suspended solids and other government regulatory pressure.
