Samsung also took time to announce two new, gorgeous looking laptops
at its event. Its encouraging to see that both laptops feature aluminium
unibody designs. The new ultrabooks are the new faces of its Ativ range
of Windows running ultrabooks.
The Ativ Book 9 Lite is the more humble of the duo. It features a 13.3 inch display with resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and optional touch sensitivity. The aluminium shell is 16.9mm thick and 1.44kg heavy (specs for the non-touch variety). Above the display is an HD webcam.
Under the hood is an AMD A6 quad-core processor with 4 GB RAM. The SSD storage option can be up to 256 GB. For connectivity the laptop uses 1 USB 3.0 port, 1 USB 2.0 port, micro HDMI port, mini VGA, Ethernet and card reader.
The battery life is quoted of being up to 8.5 hours. It can be had is either black or white colors.
The Ativ Book 9 Plus is the flagship model of the range. It has a 13.3 inch display with ground-breaking resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels. Touch-sensitivity is in the pack too, along with an HD webcam at the top. The display can be tilted up to 180 degrees. The laptop is also the lighter (1.39kg) and thinner (13.66mm) of the two.
Underneath the outer action is an Intel Core processor of i5 or i7 Haswell variety, along with up to 8 GB RAM and Intel HD Graphics 4400. The amount of SSD storage can be up to 256 GB. For connectivity there are 2 USB 3.0 ports, microHDMI port, mini VGA port, Ethernet and card reader.
The battery life is quoted as being up to 12 hours which is great considering the monstrous specs. It will be available in Black flavor.
Both the laptops will be available later this year for an unknown price.
