Telenor Pakistan reported flat revenues with marginal increase in revenues during first quarter 2013.
In its group financial report, Telenor said that its Pakistani operations generated Rs. 22.40 billion during first three months of 2013, slightly up from Rs. 21.73 billion it had generated during same duration last year showing a growth of mere 3 percent.
The Telenor company said revenue growth was mainly due to regulatory restrictions on the sale of new SIM card, incoming traffic after the implementation of the International Intangible Cultural Heritage prices - due to the reduction of a significant increase in traffic and gray flow - and the government to force the network suspension.
Financial report mentioned in ARPU in local currency decreased by 12%, due to the government to enforce network outages and the establishment of the International Clearing House (ICH) leading to a significant reduction in incoming international traffic.
EBITDA margin decreased by 2 percentage points in accordance with the industrial contribution forced to implement traffic monitoring equipment and gray operation and maintenance supplier switching costs increase, due to the decrease in gross profit margin.
Accelerated depreciation was negatively affected operating profit of NOK 235 million in continuous network modernization.
