‘Ufone-PCB King of Speed’, Trials for emerging young fast bowlers was held at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, which was the last destination of trials for round-1.
These round 1 trials are part of the initiative taken by Ufone and PCB to hunt and train the best bowling talent in Pakistan.
Ufone – PCB “King of speed” received outstanding response in Lahore, more than 2,500 young fast bowlers turned up for trials,  Adnan Ghani and Shabbir Ahmed were the lucky ones who got selected after a very tough competition, with top speed of 131 KM/h and 130 KM/h respectively.
It is pertinent to mention here that Adnan Ghani is dumb and deaf. This fact reflects that the current initiative taken by Ufone in collaboration with PCB is reaching all tiers of the talent across the country.
Trials were conducted by Ufone and PCB official including Abdul Qadir, Manzoor Elahi along with two analysts Sajid Hashmi and Faisal Rai.
Trials for round-1 have already been completed in Multan, Garhi Khuda Baksh, Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar, Faisalabad, AJK (Mirpur), Quetta and Abbottabad.
A total of 18 bowlers with 2 from each city have been selected for the 2nd round of trials so far. After the selection in round 1, these young bowlers have qualified for the 2nd round of trials which are scheduled to be held today APRIL 21, 2013 at National Stadium, Karachi and Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
After the completion of both rounds, the three selected players (via wild card entry) will join ongoing PCB – Ufone Fast bowlers camp in Karachi being conducted by Wasim Akram.
To reward upcoming talent Ufone has announced a grand prize of Rs. One Million for the bowler who is the fastest among all besides hitting or passing the 145 km/h mark.
